MCVP: Crisis & Prevention Center is the crisis center for Cheshire and western Hillsborough counties. Serving survivors of domestic and sexual violence, stalking, and human sex-trafficking, MCVP believes that everyone has the right to live free from violence and that violence can be prevented. MCVP addresses interpersonal power-based violence through a two-pronged approach: crisis intervention and prevention education.
Our crisis intervention services include:
- crisis counseling
- safety planning
- emotional support
- response to hospitals and police stations
- housing support
- court advocacy
MCVP’s Education Team provides evidence and/or research-based prevention programming at no cost to schools, organizations, and community groups throughout Cheshire and western Hillsborough counties. The programming focuses on preventing child abuse victimization and perpetration and ending the cycle of abuse. We envision a day when interpersonal power-based violence is replaced by equality, empowerment, and emotional and physical safety. By intersecting prevention and intervention, we believe this can be achieved.
Founded in 1978, MCVP has continued to evolve, adapt, and
grow our services to better meet the needs of our community. We offer inclusive
services to everyone regardless of race, sexual orientation, gender identity, socioeconomic
status, education, and religion. MCVP is the only agency solely devoted to
addressing these issues in the Monadnock Region.
